MCDA Law attends the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council Choice Awards Gala in Philadelphia


On Friday December 1, 2017, several attorneys from the firm attended the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) Choice Awards Gala in Philadelphia. The Gala recognized the achievements of top minority-owned businesses, industry leaders, and major corporations committed to supplier diversity. Courtney Seda McDonnell had the honor of presenting the Supplier of the Year Class II award to CenterPoint Group LLC. It was a wonderful evening of celebration and a great way to start off the holiday season.

Congratulations to Scott Hutt

Congratulations to firm paralegal Scott Hutt for his successful election to the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors. Scott Hutt had secured the Republican and Democratic lines on the ballot during the spring primary, making his election much more likely. On November 7, Scott secured the second highest number of votes for a total of 2430.00 votes.

Patrick and Courtney McDonnell attended the 12th Annual Great Chef's Event

On June 20, 2017, the firm was a Deuce Sponsor for the event. The event raises money for two wonderful organizations - Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Vetri Community Partnership, which partners with schools to bring healthier school lunches to students. Jazz in June Scholarship Reception – National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division

June 8, 2017, firm attorneys Courtney McDonnell, Patrick McDonnell, Anna Darpino, Justin Bettis and Taisha Tolliver attended the Jazz in June Scholarship Reception  for the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division (WLD), Philadelphia Chapter held at the African American Museum in Philadelphia.  For  35 years, WLD has worked to improve and enhance the opportunities for African American Women in the legal profession. In an effort to support African American Women  in the legal profession, each year the WLD  awards up to six Sadie T.M. Alexander Book Scholarships and one Justice Juanita Kidd Stout Tuition Scholarship to law students in the Philadelphia area. The 2017 recipients were Maya Brown and Jasmine C. Greene respectively.  Both Maya and Jasmine are currently attending Temple University Beasley School of Law. Firm attorney Daniella Price (pictured at the podium) is the current President of the WLD and was a past recipient of the Sadie T.M. Alexander Book Fund Scholarship in 2014.  We are proud to have Daniella as part of our team and to support the WLD in its efforts to support African American Women in the legal profession.

Analisa Sondergaard will be Unopposed in the November Election for Magisterial District Judge

Congratulations to firm attorney Analisa Sondergaard for her victory on Tuesday May 16, 2017. Analisa is running for re-election for Magisterial District Judge in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland. 

Analisa not only won the primary Democratic nomination, but She also won the GOP nomination. Analisa will be unopposed in November.

MDCA Law team cooks breakfast for Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House

On Sunday April 23, several members of the firm with their families cooked breakfast for the families staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Since 1974, RMHC has created programs that assist families during the difficult time of caring for a sick child. Their local Chapters keep families close – giving them a place to rest and refresh. A place that feels like home. The firm was honored to serve the families staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. We are also proud of all the kids who participated in the event for their compassion and hard work.

McDonnell & Associates Supports Anniversary Benefit Reception for Support Center for Child Advocates

On April 19, 2017, firm attorneys Justin Bettis, Daniella Price, Taisha Tolliver and Anna Darpino attended the Anniversary Benefit Reception & Auction for the Support Center for Child Advocates ("Support Center"). The Support Center celebrated 40 years as a leading pro bono legal and social services agency advocating for abused and neglected children. McDonnell & Associates was a Supporter at the event again this year. The Support Center is a wonderful organization that advocates for victims of child abuse and neglect with the goal of securing safety, justice, well-being and a permanent, nurturing environment for every child.

Firm attorney Matt Rong and his wife Lotus, welcomed their new daughter, Penelope Xin Rong on Monday March 27, 2017.  Penelope was 7 lbs, 8 ounces.  Everyone is doing well including big brother Elliott.

McDonnell & Associates Sponsors the Phoenixville Community Education Foundation's Annual Phantom Fundraiser

McDonnell & Associates was a sponsor for the Phoenixville Community Education Foundation's (PCEF) Annual Phantom Fundraiser again this year.  The event was held on February 24, 2017 at the Rivercrest County Club.  Courtney McDonnell has worked on the planning committee for the event for the last 5 years.  The mission of  PCEF is to secure and provide resources that enhance the overall educational experience within the Phoenixville Area School District, including learning initiatives, preparedness programs and out of the classroom activities.  It was a great evening of dinner, dancing and fun auction items.  Melissa and Bob Rafferty joined Courtney and Pat McDonnell at their table again this year.  Special thanks to Jennifer Hahn and Embry Hussin for all their hard work in putting this great event together.
